    Despite an increasingly rough competitive and
    legal environment in the banking sector, the
    BANQUE DE CRÉDIT DE BUJUMBURA S.M. (BCB)
    met the goals it had set for this financial year.
    At the end of the financial year under review,
    the total balance sheet assets were up by 4.7%,
    while net loans to customers was down by 6.7%
    and deposits up by 4.6% year-on-year. The Net
    banking income (NBI) rose by 14.7% vs. the 2012
    financial year.

    The founder’s goal of the first BANK OF AFRICA, BOA-MALI, created in 1983 and then headed by Paul DERREUMAUX, was to fill a gap by creating a private African bank, with African capital, and dedicated to serving the African economy.
